How it Works
We developed a 3D modelling algorithm that translates a set of dates into a unique one of a kind piece of artwork. You can select one, or up to 8 important dates, and we will create a one of a kind piece of artwork, distinct from any other iteration, like a finger print.
The Moment is a perfect gift to give to a loved one, a dear friend, or a close family member. You can use it to commemorate an important event or milestone in their life, or an event that you shared together!
The drawing to the right (or above, if you’re on mobile!) represents how the final product can be “decoded” by reading the number of plywood layers at each point, in the correct order. The information is “encrypted” into an abstract art piece, but you can learn how to decode the message if you study it carefully!
Choose a date or series of dates that are significant to you or someone close to you. The options are endless, so be creative!

The very first Moment, #0001, was commissioned by my good friend Jhomhel as a birthday gift for his girlfriend. About 1 week before her birthday, Jhomhel asked me if there was some way I could use computational design to create a one of kind gift. I had an idea bouncing around in my head for several months that I thought could work, so this was the perfectly opportunity to take this idea seriously and come up with an actual product. And that’s how The Moment was born!
Although this iteration is very simple, with just one date, this Moment is one of my favourites. You certainly don’t need more than one date to create a very interesting work of art.
This is an exciting way to create a personal, one of a kind art piece for a friend or loved one!
